How Guided Meditation Works: Brain and Body.

The hormones released, travel through the body signalling to all of your 50 trillion cells, via surface cell receptors, to function in either one direction or the other.

Stress activates the SNS. Chronic stress puts strain on the body and down regulates healing systems. If stress is long-term, it potentially results in illness, as the body fails to do repairs.
